A Park attendant is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, risk management and construction, of all the jumps, rails and snow features in our terrain park.  Our terrain park crew will be working very closely with the outdoor events team as we host a variety of events from entry-level slopestyle/rail jams, all the way up to National and World Cup level boarder cross and ski cross races. This position stresses risk management and guest service skills. There will be a lot of demand on the individual to perform under stress and to work longer hours when required to execute all duties. 
Position Requirements/Skills:
  • Good Communication skills
  • Intermediate/advanced Riding/ skiing skills
  • Focused and determined individuals with a great attention to detail
  • The ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions for long hours
  • Previous terrain park experience considered an asset
  • Providing our guests with great customer service, and a unique visitor experience
Power tools/landscaping experience considered an asset
  • Work day and evening shifts.  The number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends, holidays and events.
  • Construction back ground an asset.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Representing Big White Ski Resort
  • Proper maintenance involving raking, shoveling, salting, inspecting of all features throughout the day depending on traffic, snow conditions
  • After maintenance has been performed it must be documented in the daily conditions report along with current weather/ snow conditions, and inspections for liability purposes.
  • To ensure utmost safety and awareness of our guests, terrain park attendants must ensure that all fencing, signs, feature markers, entrance is properly setup at all times during operating hours and that they are properly taken down for grooming and maintenance.
  • Keeping hourly/daily traffic counts for all terrain park zones for statistical purposes, also monitoring traffic to watch out for those riders who should not be in the terrain park due to their ability level or attitude and educate our customers on an ongoing base.
  • Assisting with events including event setup, maintenance, and breakdown on a per needed basis.
  • Interact with customers on a daily basis to educate and inform them of rules and etiquette of terrain parks & safety tips
Physical Demands:
  • Capable of Riding/ Skiing
  • Good physical condition
  • able to carry heavy materials while riding (up to 40lbs/18kg)
  • Strong work ethic and team work focused.
